Sing out loud mummas!

Yesterday we watched a lovely performance by the Mums from "As If" - you were all fantastic!

Here is a little vid of some of the performance:

Two little ducks went out one day...

Well, I rang the RSPCA yesterday and it turns out that our ducklings wandered to the next street over! They were found by some nice soul who dropped them to the RSPCA. So they are home again! Daddy & Lily strengthened the "duck run" they escaped from!

Most short-lived pets ever

Well, we have a sad story to share.

On Sunday, we went for a drive out to Laidley to visit Mark, Kaylene & family. Thanks to my dodgy directions, we got lost - the one hour drive ended up taking THREE! But while we were lost, we stumbled onto a muscovy duck farm. Krissy used to have one as a pet, so we bought two for Lily.

What they would like look when they're older:

Lily & ducks all passed out on the way home.

Lily came up with lots of names for them, but none seemed to stick! First they were Melon & Bertie, then both were called Alison, and then they were Miriam & Pony.

We made a makeshift "duck run" for them using our vegie patch, lots of chicken wire & corrugated iron. Lily & I went out for the morning yesterday and when we got home - less than 24 hours since we'd brought them home - they had ESCAPED!! Out of the pen and out of our yard.

We've walked around the neighbourhood, quacking loudly, to no avail. Today we're going to drop some "Ducks Missing" leaflets and check with the RSPCA if someone has handed them in.

But our ducklings may have floated off down the river, or worse... :-(

We might just stick to fish.

Mari's party

Lily & Jack went to Mari's birthday on the weekend.

Mari had the coolest cake!

First day of new Kindy room

So she isn't moving up a class at kindy (with new teachers) in the same month as her brother or sister is born, Lily was able to move up with Jack from the Toddler to the Kindy room in the last few weeks. This was there first day there together - they're pretty happy!!

Some recent bump pictures

Number two is arriving in January. And yes I know I look huge!

Uncle Jimmy

We went to visit Uncle Jimmy in his new nursing home.

On the way home, we saw a big truck crashed across the opposite side of the highway!

Kids Big Day Out

We also went to a Kids Big Day Out at the Mt Cootha Botanic Gardens. Lily did a circus workshop and did a forward roll!

Ballet in the park

We went on a mega mission to go see the Australian Ballet perform in the Botanic Gardens. Jack & Lily LOVED it!

Its been a while between posts.....

Crikey, our last post was 29th April!

Some of you know why, but for those of you who don't......

Yes, we are finally expecting #2!!!

I have spent much of the last six weeks vomiting (or trying not too), getting acupuncture twice a week and trying to take it easy. The last few weeks haven't been as bad, I'm not throwing up anymore and my energy has returned. I'm now into my 2nd trimester. We're due mid Jan (nice & hot!).

Lily is very excited about being a big sister. She is currently freaking us out by saying there are two babies - a boy and a girl!

Here are a few other cute recent pics, the first one of us at a World Refugee Day festival.....

And this of our Vegemite Kid....

Now I'm feeling better I'm looking forward to getting back into my routines, including regularly updating Lily's blog.

Kindy muffins

Lily & I made muffins today, using the same recipe that they made at kindy a few weeks ago. Lily knew exactly what to do. They were yummy!
